If you’re not in a holiday mood yet, you just might be after this weekend.

Tonight, be sure to get your tickets at, to hear soul/pop dynamos Kylie Odetta and The Dream Team in person, at Sundance Gallery on Maxwell Avenue in Greenwood. Odetta is a singer-songwriter from Greenville, known for her breathy, jazzy sound.

With her for this Greenwood Performing Arts show is her Dream Team band, which includes none other than saxophonist Steven Galloway, who Greenwood music fans know and love. You don’t want to miss this.

Or, head on over to Abbeville for the town’s annual Christmas tree lighting at 6:30 p.m. Friday. There will be a special dance performance and hot cocoa.

Also Friday, from 5:30-8 p.m., Greenwood Chamber of Commerce hosts its Grape Stomp, a wine walk and fun way to usher in the shopping season with Uptown Greenwood. Call 864-889-9314 for tickets.

Friday is also the night Uptown Greenwood flips the switch for the almost magical tree lights. Uptown will be aglow with bright lights and holiday decor. It’s a great family photo opportunity and just worth it to drive through Uptown after dusk.

Saturday, shop until you drop from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Uptown Greenwood. Anticipate specials and sales and chances to win prizes. Saxophonist Steven Galloway will be back at it, playing cool tunes, and Siserly Kelley will be selling cakes in front of The Floral Case. Jon Holloway's photography studio at 140 Maxwell Ave. is hosting another sale for funky and fun handmade socks, scarves and caps from Holloway’s friend, Dorge, of the Himalayas. These cozy handmade goods will be available only from 3-7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. They are expected to sell super fast.
