Two candidates have emerged so far in an election to fill the unexpired term of McCormick County school board member James Bernard Moss, who died last month.
Al Bell and Alonzo Harrison both filed their paperwork shortly after noon on Friday, when filing opened for the at-large seat. Bell, a former trustee on the board, lost his second reelection bid in November in a seven-way race for three seats.
Harrison is the chairman of the county’s Democratic Party.
Filing will close at noon Sept. 27. The election is Nov. 19.
