Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris is scheduled to visit Greenwood on Monday.
The U.S. senator from California will speak with Greenwood’s veterans about her campaign and policies in relation to health care, “economic justice,” justice for veterans and a bevy of other hot-button topics and issues.
Doors for the discussion are scheduled to open at 12:15 p.m., and Harris will begin speaking at 12:45 p.m. The campaign has not yet set a location for the event, but said everyone is welcome to attend.
This will be Harris’ 14th trip to South Carolina, but her first time in Greenwood. She’s previously orchestrated town halls and meet and greets in cities throughout the state.
Harris served as the 32nd Attorney General of California from 2011 until 2017, before she became California’s junior U.S. senator on Jan. 3, 2017.
Marianne Williamson, another Democrat seeking the White House, visited Greenwood earlier this year.
