Laurens County is getting a bit of good luck.
Shamrock Technologies Inc., which processes and develops specialty natural and synthetic wax additives, announced Wednesday it would invest $19.4 million to open operations at 101 Connexial Blvd., Gray Court, which was a spec building.
“Shamrock Technologies is excited to be making our next investment in Laurens County as we expand our global footprint to prepare for future growth,” Joon Choo, company president, said in a released statement.
On Tuesday night, Laurens County Council unanimously approved third reading of a fee-in-lieu-of-taxes agreement with the company. It was formerly called Project Blue. The ordinance indicated officials think Shamrock Technologies will create at least 18 full-time jobs at the new location.
Headquartered in Newark, New Jersey, Shamrock has been family owned for more than 80 years. The Laurens County plant should open by early 2023.
