Well everybody, it is your lucky day! I am writing the blog again this week as Allie (White) is off enjoying herself in the Appalachian Mountains.
I'm very jealous I have to say. However, I am also able to have my own little adventure this week, I just have access to the Internet!
Since we have two weeks off, I decided to fly back to New Jersey and enjoy the Easter holiday with my mum. This was a very spontaneous decision, but I just thought to myself, "Why not?"
Once the season fully gets underway it will be very hard for me to find any time to go home, so now was the perfect opportunity.
I will continue to practice and work out, it will just be nice to have a change of scenery. When you do the same thing, day in and day out, for months on end, it can be hard to stay motivated and also to stay diligent on my daily routine. While I am at home, I will be able to do different workouts from what I usually do, like spinning classes, or taking a long walk along the beach with my mum.
It's actually good for the body to switch up the sort of workouts I do, as it will keep my body guessing.
I am really looking forward to being able to play golf with so many of the members at my golf club, who I grew up playing golf with. Most of them are the lady members I used to play with on Ladies Tuesday, when I was younger. I absolutely loved playing with them as they are out there to enjoy themselves and they don't worry too much about what they shoot. Because I was the only young female golfer, they all had an interest in me and they have enjoyed watching my game change as I've grown up.
I also plan on seeing a few of my friends while I am home. I don't get to see them too often so I will definitely be spending time with them. Most of them have never played golf and don't really understand what it is I do. This is actually quite nice for me as it means I can get away from golf and talk about 'normal' things, like weddings, babies, and whatever else might come up!
Most importantly, I am looking forward to spending time with my mum. I grew up with three siblings, so attention was rather limited. Now that we all live in different parts of the world, I really enjoy being able to have my mum to myself when I go home. None of my siblings play golf and find it very boring to talk about, especially my two sisters!
My mum took it up a couple of years ago and has really started to enjoy playing, which is great. The weather is supposed to be really nice so I'm sure we will play a couple of rounds together. We will also be able to have a good chat about how I feel my season it going so far and what needs to be improved, etc. My mum has a great perspective on things, and the one question she always asked me is, "Are you still enjoying yourself?"
I put enough pressure on myself as it is, I am very thankful that she doesn't push me too hard.
Happy Easter everyone !
