Emerald senior Jade Moran signed Wednesday to play soccer at Columbia College.
Not only was she happy to play soccer at the next level, but Moran said she will become the first in her family to attend college.
“It’s such a great feeling, and it feels like I’m accomplishing something in life,” Moran said.
At Emerald, Moran said she will miss the family atmosphere of the team.
“I will miss the bus rides to games and the family that the team has,” Moran said. “The ability to have that family is amazing, and knowing you have someone there for you.”
Moran has played soccer at Emerald throughout high school, and she still has her senior season left to play at Emerald.
Columbia College is a women’s college that competes in NAIA. Moran said she chose Columbia College particularly because it was a women’s college.
