Nelva Anderson Lawton

Nelva Anderson Lawton, 85, widow of Thomas W. Lawton, passed away September 22, 2019, at Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont.

Born March 28, 1934, in Hodges, she was a daughter of the late Pinckney W. and Belle Nickles Anderson. She was a graduate of Greenwood High School and attended Lander College (University now) and was formerly employed with Park Seed Company.

She was a member of Greenwood Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Jane L. and husband Dwayne Edwin Scott of Greenwood; a daughter-in-law, Melanie Hall Lawton of Hodges; a sister, Hilda Anderson Parkman of Greenwood; four grandchildren, Allison Lawton (Marc) Cromer, Austin Michael Scott, Justin Edwin Scott and Lauralee Belle Scott; two great-grandsons, Kaminer Cromer and Stokes Cromer.

She was predeceased by a son, Thomas W. “Tommy” Lawton, Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2019, at the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Archie Moore officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Austin Scott, Justin Scott, Stokes Cromer, Kaminer Cromer, Marc Cromer and Russell Parkman.

The family is at the home of Jane and Dwayne Scott, 1013 Saddle Hill Road, and will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening.
