James Franklin Brown
CHAPPELLS — Mr. James Franklin Brown, 77, of 639 Poplar Springs Road, Chappells, SC, husband of Bertha Longshore Brown, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at his home. He was born in Saluda, SC, August 29, 1942, a son of the late Homer Green and Christine Brown.
He was a member of Scurry Springs Baptist Church and formerly employed with Roberts Foundry.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Bertha Brown of the home, four sons, James Brown of Newberry, SC, Franklin Alexander Brown and Samuel Brown, both of Chappells, SC, and Kenneth Brown of Clinton, SC; one daughter, Andrea R. Brown of Hodges, SC; two sisters, Mary L. Harper and husband Robert and Frankie Quarles, both of Greenwood; five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, a devoted friend, Johnny Leakes of Ninety Six, SC, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Mr. Brown will be held noon Wednesday, October 9. 2019 at Evening Star Cemetery, with Rev. Jackie Aiken officiating.
The family will have visitation from 6-7:30 Tuesday evening at Percival Tompkins Funeral Home.
