Ida Williams Timmerman

Ida Williams Timmerman, former resident of 222 Gracemont Drive and 106 Oaklane Drive, widow of Felix Lee Timmerman, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2019, at Wesley Commons.

Born in Edgefield County, she was a daughter of the late Willie Chriswell Williams and Ida Griffis Williams. A graduate of Greenwood High School, she was also a graduate of the Greenwood College of Commerce and attended Lander College. Mrs. Timmerman retired from The County Bank.

A member of First Baptist Church of Greenwood, she was also member of the Ruth Bible Class and the Joann Gray Circle of the church.

Mrs. Timmerman was the last member of her immediate family, and was survived by a son, Kenneth Lee Timmerman and wife Mae; a daughter, Beverly Gay Timmerman Byars; a granddaughter, Laura Ashlee Atkins and husband Kent; and three great grandchildren, Laura Davis Atkins, Allen Kenneth-Lake Atkins and Anna Griffis Atkins, all of Greenwood.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ada W. Wells and Christine W. Spelts and by two brothers, Griff Williams and Fred Williams.

Memorial services will be conducted 12:00 noon Monday at the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Tony Hopkins officiating. Private committal services will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens prior to the service.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.

The family would like to express sincere thanks to the staff of Wesley Commons, especially to the CNA’s, LPN’s, and to Judy Robinson and all the caregivers of Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont for their kindnesses and loving care given over the last part of Mrs. Timmerman’s life. The family would also like to thank Marlene Vereen for her love and devotion to Mrs. Timmerman throughout the years.
