Eunice Dorn

McCORMICK — Eunice Wall Dorn, 89, resident of McCormick, widow of Ralph M.”Mottie” Dorn, went to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 07, 2019, at Hospice House in Greenwood.

Born February 27, 1929, in Plum Branch, she spent most of her life in McCormick. She was a daughter of the late George Coy and Edith Wilkie Wall. She was a 1946 graduate of McCormick High School and graduated Waldrep’s Beauty College in Greenville. Mrs. Dorn owned and operated Debbie’s Beauty Shop for 63 years, working until just last year.

A member of First Baptist Church of McCormick since 1945, she was also a member and secretary of the Deborah Sunday School Class and formerly taught the Beginner’s Sunday School Class for more than 25 years. She was also a former member of the Church Choir.

Surviving are a daughter, Debbie Spearman and husband Steve of Ninety Six; a son, Tommy Dorn and wife Tammie of Greenwood; four grandchildren, Leslie (Joel) Williams of Anderson, Greg (Anna Kayla) Spearman of Ninety Six, Brad (Mary Catherine) Dorn of Greenwood, and Mark Dorn of Greenwood; six great-grandchildren, Evan, Maura and Hannah Kate Williams, Lillianna and Farris Spearman and Houston Dorn; a sister, Evelyn (Al) Burns of McCormick; a brother-in-law, Leonard (JoAnn) Dorn of Winterville, NC, and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

Eunice was a loving person and was the happiest when she was doing for others. She will always be remembered for her famous jams, jellies and pickles, which she gave away freely.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted 3:30 pm Sunday at the First Baptist Church of McCormick, with Rev. Michael Allen, Rev. Doug Kauffman and Rev. Greg Spearman officiating.

Honorary escort will be George Long, George Patterson, Wallace Wood, Charles Parnell, Larry Freeland, Jerry Patterson, John Tabor, Robert Harper and Keith Creswell.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10:30 am Sunday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Doug Kauffman officiating.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the church from 1:30 to 3:30 Sunday afternoon immediately before the service.
