Emma Louise Griffin

Emma Louise Miller Griffin, 79, formerly of 114 Marshall Circle, widow of Floyd T. Griffin, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019 at NHC of Greenwood.

Born in Greenwood on October 3, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Johnnie Zedekiah and Janie Yeargin Miller. She retired after 30 years from Wesley Commons, formerly The Methodist Home and was a member of Marshall Road Church of God, where she was a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and faithful friend.

Surviving are her children, Thelma Griffin Cogdill of Cross Hill, Edward J. Sullivan (Roberta) of Ninety Six, Tina Paysinger Ponder (Joe) of Greenwood, Teresa Paysinger Mahaffey (Scott) of Ware Shoals, and Larry G. Paysinger (Carla) of Laurens; sister, Alice Faye Barrett of Greenwood; seventeen grandchildren; thirty nine great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, brothers, Willie A. Miller of Saluda and Johnnie L. Miller of Ware Shoals; son, Daniel Griffin; great granddaughter, Regan Griffin, both of Ninety Six; and grandson, Elliott Zedekiah “EZ” Paysinger of Greenwood.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Donald Rowell and Rev. Johnnie Waller officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
