The State Law Enforcement Division has made two more arrests in connection with a triple homicide in Abbeville last week.
Greenwood resident Daijeanne Lee Hamilton, 18, and 19-year-old Ta’Zaria Idejah Curry, of Abbeville, were each charged with accessory after the fact to a felony. According to arrest warrants, the pair tied to help 19-year-old Elijah Ty Rez Head “avoid the consequences of his crime.” Head, also of Greenwood, is charged with three counts of murder, one count of attempted murder and one count of possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Abbeville police and deputies responded early June 23 to Hickory Heights Apartments to the shooting, and on arriving one officer saw a man toward the 200 building without a shirt on saying he was unsure if he had been shot, according to a police report. After officers confirmed he was uninjured, the man fell to the ground and asked for water.
Police found 62-year-old Shirley Jean Jones and 26-year-old Steven Tinch dead at the scene. Johntavier Moss was taken to Self Regional Medical Center. All three suffered multiple gunshot wounds. A fourth person was shot and was treated at an area hospital.
Head was arrested at 1:28 a.m. June 24 — less than 24 hours after the shooting. Hamilton and Curry were booked Friday afternoon, with SLED announcing the arrests Monday morning.
