A traffic stop Sunday led officers to a bag of marijuana and a woman who had a warrant out for her arrest, according to a report.

Jasandra Luceria Nyoko Bowman, 24, and Alvin Jerome Brown Jr., 23, both of 102 Tennessee Court, Greenwood were arrested Sunday. Bowman was charged with first-degree assault and battery and false name and/or date of birth, while Brown was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

At about 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Greenwood police saw a vehicle cut through the parking lot of the 7-Eleven on South Main Street to cut through to Marshall Road, avoiding the red light at the intersection, the report said. The officer followed the vehicle and stopped it, speaking with the driver and noticing a smell of marijuana coming from inside. The driver told officers there was a “blunt” somewhere in the car, and officers found a plastic container in the center console with 51 grams of marijuana in it and a set of digital scales, the report said.

The woman in the passenger’s seat had given officers her name, but inside the car, officers found her ID, which had a different name on it. Officers recognized from her real name that she had an active warrant for her arrest, the report said.
