A Greenwood man who police said subdued his stepson with a shotgun to try and prevent him from entering a residence is facing several charges, authorities said.
Terry Mack Reynolds, 61, of 205 Piedmont Ave., was arrested Friday on charges of pointing and presenting a firearm at a person, possession of a controlled substance, felon in possession of a firearm and drawing weapon in affray.
According a Greenwood Police incident report, officers arrived at a residence on Friday morning and were told a man inside was holding a shotgun. The man, who surrendered and was handcuffed, told police he was trying to bar his stepson from coming inside because of his previous property thefts.
The stepson, the man said, lived in a shed behind the house and hoped to take a shower. Police took the man to Self Regional Medical Center for observation after he threatened to kill himself, officials said.
