Police arrested their second suspect Thursday in connection with the June slaying of Zykevious Ramsey, according to officials.
Reginald Detrayvious Graham, 20, was booked at the Greenwood County jail Thursday and charged with murder, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
On Tuesday, police had arrested 22-year-old Adric Turman in connection with this case. Greenwood Police Department Public Information Officer Jonathan Link said both suspects were identified after people came forward with additional information, along with recently receiving an analysis of some evidence from the crime scene.
Link said Graham was in custody in McCormick on an unrelated charge, so though officers secured warrants for Graham and Turman at the same time, they arrested Turman first because he posed the greatest risk of fleeing.
Police found 22-year-old Ramsey at 12:30 a.m. June 4 sitting on the steps outside his Thornbrook Court apartment. He had been shot in the head, but was still alive at the time — though he later died of his injuries at 2:46 a.m. at Self Regional Medical Center.
At the scene, officers spoke with a woman who said she was Ramsey’s girlfriend. She told officers as it approached midnight Ramsey went outside because he was meeting someone, and she saw him talking to a man in a gold Camry. When he came back inside he said a friend was coming over, police noted, but when he and the woman heard a car alarm going off, Ramsey went outside again.
That’s when the woman heard the gunshot, she told police, and as she ran to a back bedroom to take cover she heard someone run in and say Ramsey had been set up and killed.
