Armed robbery 01

Police and deputies blocked traffic Tuesday evening on Pressley Street while officers investigated an armed robbery at Papa T’s liquor store at the corner of Pressley and Seaboard.

An armed robbery investigation Tuesday evening had officers blocking traffic along Pressley Street and the surrounding roadways, while officers sought two men believed to be armed.

The call came in at 6:05 p.m. about an armed robbery at Papa T’s liquor store at the corner of Pressley Street and Seaboard Avenue, said Greenwood Police Department Public Information Officer Jonathan Link. No one was injured during the robbery, but two men wearing dark clothes and reportedly armed with guns fled the store on foot.

Link didn’t know what direction the suspects were headed, nor what they stole from the store, but said Greenwood police and county deputies responded quickly to block traffic in the surrounding blocks. Officers set up a perimeter to help search for the suspects.

Link said investigators were working to get security video and interview witnesses, in the hopes of identifying the suspects.
