A Greenwood man turned himself in to police Monday in connection with a shooting in July, according to police.

Thomas Shane Saxon, 45, of 96 Fourth St., Greenwood was charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault and battery, kidnapping, discharging a firearm into a dwelling and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

According to a post on the Greenwood Police Department Facebook page, a man told police he had a “scuffle” with another man, but the two parted ways.

As the first man went to his place of business, the post said the other man followed him and held him at gunpoint for about an hour.

The man who contacted police said while he was held at gunpoint, the other man struck him multiple times and fired two shots into the wall. Police found bullet holes consistent with the man’s story, the post said.

A police report was not immediately available.
