Gregory Lamar Sibert Jr., 32, of 122 Russell St., Greenwood was arrested Tuesday and charged with pointing and presenting a firearm at a person and third-degree assault and battery.
On July 31, Greenwood police went to a Columbia Avenue residence and met with a woman who said she and a man ended their relationship that day, according to a report. She said while the man was moving his things out of the residence an argument sparked that led him to hit her in the face.
During the assault, a relative of hers came out and tried to stop the attack but was also struck before he and a witness were able to stop it, the report said.
During the struggle, the attacker pulled a handgun from his front pocket, pointed it at someone and pulled the trigger, the report said. The gun did not fire and the attacker ran away, the report said.
