Robert Charles Regan, 36, of 1406 Miller Road, Greenwood was arrested Tuesday and charged with grand larceny and petit larceny.

On Monday, Greenwood County deputies were called to a Miller Road residence where a woman said she had loaned her 2007 Toyota Camry to a man who was now refusing to give it back, the report said. The woman told officers she was concerned the man was going to go cause harm to a former girlfriend of his.

Officers went to that area but couldn’t find him, and the man had called saying he wanted to harm himself and a woman and that he would destroy the vehicle before he returned it. Officers eventually found him driving the vehicle on Ridge Road, but the man sped away and went to his ex-girlfriend’s residence, the report said.

When officers arrived, the man ran into nearby woods and evaded deputies and the bloodhound tracking team, the report said. Officers noted they would get warrants for the man’s arrest.
