A Greenwood man is facing charges in connection with a July 2 shooting, according to police.
Joey Corvell Reid, 35, of 1307 E. Cambridge Ave. surrendered to officers Wednesday afternoon after learning he was wanted by police, according to a post on the Greenwood Police Department Facebook page.
Reid is charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Just after 1 a.m. July 2, Greenwood police went to Chipley Avenue to investigate a shooting and spoke with a woman who said she and her adult daughter had each been shot in the leg, according to a report.
The woman told police she didn’t know she had been shot until she got up to go to the restroom and realized blood was trickling down her leg. The two women were treated at Self Regional Medical Center.
Witnesses reported seeing several people outside of a nearby residence — the incident report said “they all had guns out waving them around” — and two of them were arguing before they heard gunshots.
Officers recovered several shell casings from the scene, and through investigation and the cooperation of witnesses, officers were able to identify a suspect, police said.
