John Henry Brown III, 23, of 323 Pinehurst Drive, Greenwood was arrested Wednesday and charged with burglary, second-degree domestic violence, malicious injury to real property, value less than $1,000 and malicious damage to personal property, value less than $1,000.
At about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, Greenwood County deputies went to a Kemp Drive residence where a woman said the father of her child was breaking the windows of her house while she and her 6-month-old son, according to a report.
The first officer at the scene found a man who appeared to be intoxicated coming from behind the residence and bleeding from a severe cut to his right forearm, the report said. The officer called for EMS to come and help the man while another officer went to speak with the woman who called 911.
The woman said the man texted her the night prior asking to see the child, but because she had been having problems with him she said no, the report said. The man threatened to kill himself on the woman’s front porch, and at about 5:15 a.m. he showed up demanding to be let in.
Officers noted that the woman told them she hid with the child as she heard what sounded like the man breaking windows, the report said. Officers searching the area found windows had been broken and a concrete block was used to apparently damage the window and mirror of a car outside the house.
