A former McCormick Correctional Institution officer is facing charges following allegations she threatened other officers’ lives, helped provide contraband to an inmate and communicated with inmates by sending text messages and nude images, according to warrants and affidavits provided by the state Department of Corrections.
Tyshiana Brown, 24, of Iva had the warrants served on her Monday.
According to warrants, on April 4, Brown conveyed a threat to harm two correctional officers at McCormick prison, sent via Snapchat. Later an officer received a text message saying they were not safe to return to work.
Another warrant said on April 1 Brown conspired to hide tobacco on her person and bring it into the prison. It also said she communicated with inmates via text message and exchanged nude images with them.
