Deputies have identified a man wanted in connection with Tuesday night’s shooting at H2O Lounge, according to a news release from the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office.

Brandon Pierre Hawkins, 30, of Greenwood is wanted on counts of attempted murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, the release said. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about Hawkins or his whereabouts is urged to contact the sheriff’s office at 864-942-8600, call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIMESC, email the sheriff’s office at tips@greenwoodsc.gov or message deputies on Facebook at facebook.com/GwdCSO.

At about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, Greenwood deputies got a call about multiple gunshots coming from the area of H2O Ultra Lounge at 1601 Highway 72/221 E. When deputies arrived on scene minutes later, they found a blood trail in the parking lot.

Deputies learned a man with a gunshot wound had been taken to the emergency room of an area hospital. Officers secured the scene and the crime scene unit went to help collect evidence.

Hawkins is on probation stemming from his March 2017 plea to a charge of high and aggravated breach of peace. He and another man were arrested about a year earlier in connection with a shootout between them, according to 8th Circuit Solicitor’s Office Communications Director Brian King.

Investigators and prosecutors couldn’t determine who fired first in the shootout, so prosecutors dropped charges of attempted murder against both men when they agreed to plead guilty to breach of peace charges, King said.

In connection with the breach of peace charge, Hawkins was sentenced to 10 years behind bars with the South Carolina Department of Corrections, provided he serve 32 months and the balance would be suspended to two years probation. He was given credit for 16 days served.

According to SCDC Director of Communications Chrysti Shain, Hawkins was released Nov. 1, 2018 on probation.
