A 34-year-old man died Monday and deputies have arrested someone in connection with the man’s slaying.
Deputies were called at about 2 a.m. Monday to 18772 Highway 72 E., Clinton, where officers found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, the post said. The man was identified as Miguel Gutierrez-Mendoza, who was taken to an area hospital where he died of his injuries, said Courtney Snow, Laurens County Sheriff’s Office public information officer.
Investigators and the crime scene unit responded to the residence, and 20-year-old Osvaldo Antonio Flores, who lived with Gutierrez-Mendoza, was arrested and charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
“We are still talking with Mr. Flores and right now we can’t speculate on a motive,” Snow said.
