From a high of more than 4,000 customers at 9:30 p.m., Duke Energy Carolinas had the lights on to all but three of its Greenwood County customers by 10:30 p.m.

Greenwood Commissioners of Public Works General Manager Jeff Meredith said a one substation was offline because of the loss of a Duke Energy transmission line. Areas around East Cambridge Avenue, the Beechwood subdivision, Wesley Commons and Woodfields are affected.

Little River Electric Cooperative had 2,731 customers without power in McCormick County at 10:30 p.m., but power was restored by 11:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 1 a.m.

Highway Patrol has received reports of a tree down on McCormick Highway near Cedar Springs Road in Greenwood County and one down in Abbeville County at the intersection of Mt. Lebanon and Olin Smith roads. In Laurens County, the agency has received multiple reports of trees on roadways.
