Traffic fatality

A Leesville man died Friday after a wreck in which his vehicle rear-ended a tractor-trailer in Laurens County, according to officials.

Dakota James Linton, 21, died from injuries sustained in the wreck, said Laurens County Deputy Coroner Rodney Hartsell.

The wreck happened about 12:55 p.m. Friday near the 57-mile marker on Interstate 26, said Trooper 1st Class Tyler Tidwell with the state Highway Patrol.

Linton was in a 2000 Dodge Caravan headed west along I-26 while a 2006 International tractor-trailer was also headed west on the highway, Tidwell said. The Dodge hit the tractor-trailer from the rear, leaving Linton with fatal injuries. The other driver was not injured.
