A car fire on Jordan Street prompted a full response of multiple fire engines Tuesday morning, according to a post on the Greenwood Fire Department's Facebook page.

Dispatch originally told firefighters the vehicle fire was threatening a nearby building, which led firefighters to respond as if they would be fighting a building fire. When Engine 2 arrived, firefighters quickly extinguished the vehicle fire and all other units left the call, the post said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and firefighters asked people to avoid the area while they are still on scene.
