A driver was flown to a hospital Wednesday after his car struck a parked logging truck, according to officials.
A Freightliner logging truck was parked Wednesday facing west along Belle Meade Road in Greenwood, said Master Trooper Brandon Bolt with the state Highway Patrol. The truck was parked partway on private property, and partially in the roadway, he said.
A driver headed west in a Buick sedan at about 6 p.m. when the car struck the rear of the truck, and was flown to Greenville to be treated at a hospital for his injuries, Bolt said. The driver was also charged with driving too fast for conditions, though Bolt said he couldn’t provide the driver’s identity. He did not know the man’s condition.
The posted speed limit in that area, Bolt said, is 25 mph.
