One driver died and another was airlifted from the scene after a two-vehicle wreck in Laurens County, according to the state Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened at 2 a.m. Friday along S.C. Highway 14 near Equinox Road, which is less than a mile west of Gray Court.
A westbound 2016 Jeep SUV crossed the centerline and struck an oncoming 2017 Kia four-door car, Lance Cpl. Justin Sutherland said.
The driver of the SUV died at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Deputy Coroner Vickie Cheek could not immediately be reached, but multiple media outlets reported the driver was Kasey Craigo, 28, of Laurens.
The other driver, who is 21, was airlifted to the same hospital. Sutherland said neither driver was wearing a seat belt.
The vehicles had no other occupants.
