Greenwood County firefighters doused a fire at a house Tuesday afternoon on Cokesbury Road in Hodges, according to officials.
The fire call came in at about 2:15 p.m. and a tanker, engine and rescue truck from the Hodges/Cokesbury Fire Station responded, along with a crew from North Fire, said a post on the Greenwood County Emergency Services Facebook page. Firefighters reported light smoke coming from the house and were able to control the fire quickly.
No one was injured in the fire, and the American Red Cross was contacted to help the resident. Red Cross volunteers are helping the one adult living there with financial assistance for food, clothing, lodging and other essentials, an email from the Red Cross said.
