The South Carolina Festival of Flowers has made Greenwood proud again! The annual celebration received four (4) top honors at the International Festivals & Events Association’s (IFEA) Convention and Expo in San Diego, California on October 1. The SC Festival of Flowers won:

• GOLD for Best Event Website — scfestivalofflowers.org

• SILVER for Best New Merchandise — 12 Month Calendar

• BRONZE for Best Digital / Social Ads

• BRONZE – Tie for Best Miscellaneous Printed Materials — Collection of Notecards

The SC Festival of Flowers competed this year against other major festivals and events from around the world. In 2017, the Festival received five (5) recognition awards.

The IFEA is the premiere association that supports festival and event professionals worldwide. The Pinnacle Awards competition recognizes the best special events, festival materials, promotions and ideas in the festivals and events industry.

The branding and marketing of this year’s 51st SC Festival of Flowers. “Come Play In Greenwood,” was created and implemented by the talented team of Ellesor Holder of Gray Marketing & PR and Ellyn Reeder of LNinnovations. Both Holder and Reeder represent Chamber member businesses.

“It’s both humbling and rewarding for the marketing team’s hard work to be recognized by other special event professionals, especially on the international stage,” said Richard Thomason, the Festival’s 51st anniversary Chair. “These awards by the International Festival and Events Association are a reflection of tremendous support provided by the Chamber’s board, presenting sponsor Park Seed, as well as all of the sponsors, our dedicated volunteers and the community as a whole,” he said.

Once again, the Festival marketing is honored among the best festivals in the world. According to Festival organizers, the SC Festival of Flowers produced an economic impact of over $4.7 million dollars this year. Over the past two years the Festival has experienced 20% growth and in 2018, attracted over 100,000 people to Greenwood.

More than 2,000 member festivals compete for the annual IFEA awards.

“I am so proud of our Festival leadership and marketing team for their recent accomplishments! Our Festival continues to raise the bar each year for engaging our visitors and community. I am immensely proud of our team’s accomplishments for being recognized on an international level for showcasing our marketing, branding, and event management,” said Angelle LaBorde, Chamber President & CEO.
