Keep Greenwood County Beautiful and Greenwood County recently wrapped up their Team Up to Clean Up event.

From Oct. 12 through Nov. 23, over 38 teams participated in by picking up 634 bags of litter. Each team was provided with all the supplies needed to a litter cleanup such as safety vests, gloves, trash bags and pickup sticks by the County’s new Litter Prevention Coordinator, Maggie McMahon.

McMahon worked in conjunction with Keep Greenwood County Beautiful to receive the necessary supplies from Palmetto Pride. Keep Greenwood County Beautiful Chair Johnathan Graves stated, “Team Up 2 Clean Up is an initiative that was created by Keep Greenwood County Beautiful last year to address our community’s litter through a total team effort. This year, KGCB’s Fall Team Up 2 Clean Up was enhanced by our partnership with Greenwood County and the amazing efforts of their Litter Prevention Coordinator Maggie McMahon. Thanks to Maggie’s coordination and recruitment, our organization saw record totals in the number of volunteers participating and litter collected. The KGCB Board and volunteers are extremely appreciative of our businesses, government agencies, civic groups, and schools coming together to positively impact our community!”

Again, Keep Greenwood County Beautiful and Greenwood County would like to thank the participating teams.
