Abbeville First Bank Board Chair Pat Hodge announces that Dr. Larry Lawson has elected to retire from the Board of Directors effective May 1st. Bank President Andy Timmerman, Chairman Hodge and the rest of the Board of Directors would like to thank Dr. Lawson for his 24 years of dedicated service to the Bank. “His insight and business experience have been an asset to the Bank. We wish him the best as he plans to spend more time with his family and traveling.”
The Board approved the appointment of Anne Marie Hempy to fulfill the remaining term of Dr. Lawson and she has accepted this appointment. Chairman Hodge said, “We look forward to welcoming Mrs. Hempy to the Board and working with her in the future to ensure the continued stability and growth of the bank.”
Anne Marie McNeil Hempy is an attorney practicing with Hite and Stone, LLC on the Square in Abbeville. Anne Marie was the valedictorian of her class at Abbeville High School and graduated cum laude from The University of South Carolina Honors College in 2003. She received her Juris Doctor degree from The University of South Carolina School of Law in 2006. While in law school, Anne Marie served as an Articles Editor for the South Carolina Law Review. Prior to joining Hite & Stone, Anne Marie was an associate at prominent firms in Greenville and Columbia, SC, and previously served as a law clerk for the Honorable G. Ross Anderson, Jr., United States District Court.
Anne Marie is married to Arik Hempy, and they reside in Abbeville with their three children. She is a member of Abbeville Presbyterian Church, where she serves on the Busy Bees Preschool Board and Foundation Board.
