Keep Greenwood County Beautiful will coordinate the ninth annual Lake Greenwood Cleanup Blitz from 8 a.m. to noon March 11 at the Lake Greenwood State Park. Since 2009, the blitz has collected over 39,000 pounds of trash along the shorelines of Lake Greenwood and gets an estimated 300 volunteers annually.

In addition to Keep Greenwood County Beautiful, the following organizations are collaborating for this year’s lake cleanup: Greenwood County Lake Management, Greenwood County Public Works, Lake Greenwood State Park, Preserving Lake Greenwood, state Department of Natural Resources, Palmetto Pride and the Greenwood Area Chamber of Commerce.

Volunteers may sign up at greenwoodsc.gov/lakecleanup or by contacting Lake Management at 864-942-8560.
