POSITION AVAILABLE City of Abbeville, SC Facilities Maintenance Technician The City of Abbeville is currently accepting applications for a Facilities Maintenance Technician. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to: � Performs routine building maintenance tasks for City Hall, Opera House, Civic Center, Police Department and Public Utilities Administration building. � Change light bulbs, interior and exterior as needed. � Maintain exterior property focusing on the Downtown Square area. � Oversees daily trash removal, bathroom cleaning, entranceway cleaning, cigarette receptacles, cleaning floors, cleaning windows etc. � Cleaning / disinfecting community surfaces. � Change all filters for HVAC as required in all buildings. � Repair maintain/monitor all equipment. � Paint, remodel, and refurbish areas as needed. � Assists with City sponsored events. � Reports maintenance issues to City Manager or Assistant City Manager. � Must be able to work flexible hours. � Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: � High school education or equivalent. � At least 5 years experience in facilities maintenance. � Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. � Ability to work with limited supervision. � Strong communication and interpersonal skills. � Ability to push/lift 75 pounds. � Ability to climb ladders. � Bending at waist, sitting, standing, climbing, walking, crouching as job requires. � Ability to work around paint, cleaning fluids, solvents, batteries and lubricants safely. � Must possess a valid SC driver�s license with a good driving history.
