For nearly 36 minutes, the Lander University men's basketball team kept USC Aiken leading scorer Ronald Zimmerman quiet. The senior guard had just eight points, all in the first half, as his 12th-ranked Pacers' team traded baskets with the Bearcats all game.
But in the waning minutes of the game, Zimmerman twice got loose and buried the Bearcats.
Zimmerman sank two 3-pointers during an 8-0 stretch with less than four minutes remaining in the game to power USC Aiken to a 76-68 victory at Finis Horne Arena Saturday night.

"That's what he does," USC Aiken coach Vince Alexander said. "We just let him shoot because he's going come through at some point. His teammates believe in him, we believe in him.
"We just continued to grind and continued to do what we do."
