The race for the Park Sterling Cup and $1 million is on.
If a golfer wins this week’s Self Regional Healthcare Foundation Women’s Health Classic at the Links at Stoney Point, and then the next two stops, at Asheville, North Carolina, and Charlotte, the cup -- and the million (via annuity) -- comes home.
But whose home?
And, can it even be done?

The intrigue is enough to bring in 22 golfers with some kind of LPGA Tour status. Among them is Reilley Rankin, who has full LPGA status and has won more than $1 million on that tour. Another is Sarah Kemp, who has won almost $400,000 on the LPGA.
But the race for the Cup and the million starts in Greenwood. Here, a Symetra Tour-best $200,000 purse and record $30,000 first prize await those 144 golfers entering Thursday’s opening of the Women’s Health Classic, which lasts four rounds.
The only other Symetra event which lasts four rounds is the season-ending Symetra Tour Championship, which has a $150,000 purse.
