When the Emerald High School baseball team steps on the field tonight against Greenwood, the Vikings will be seeing the same pitcher they saw for most of the two teams' last matchup.
This time, they hope they get a different result.
Emerald and Greenwood renew their rivalry on the diamond 7 p.m. today at Lander University's Dolny Stadium. April 23, when the two teams last met, Emerald coughed up a 2-0 lead and dropped a 3-2 decision in eight innings.

That night, Greenwood got seven strong innings from pitcher Jacob Stockman, who happens to be the Eagles' starter in tonight's matchup.
After Stockman had such success last year against the Vikings, Greenwood coach Joel Vaughn is trusting him against them again.
"He ... had a lot of success against Emerald last year," Vaughn said. "I'm sure he'll have plenty (of confidence). He's a confident kid, like all our guys.
