There were, before Friday's game against Tamassee-Salem, nine Ware Shoals High School varsity boys' basketball players on its roster.
Now, there are four.
Five Hornets players, according to Ware Shoals School District 51 superintendent Faye Sprouse, are suspended from the team for the rest of the school year as result of an all-out brawl after Ware Shoals' 58-57 loss at home last Friday night.
Sprouse would not reveal which players are suspended. Ware Shoals plays tonight at Dixie.
Sprouse also said there are suspensions - mixed with possible recommendations for expulsion for some - on the table for the five unnamed players. She added only suspensions were discussed by the South Carolina High School League on Tuesday. On Wednesday, fines and other possible sanctions will be discussed on what happened.
