Like many of you, I sure wish I could get down to Augusta this week.
As you are likely well aware, Masters week is upon us.

All right, it’s time for a little confession.
Here goes: I, Chris Trainor, age 35, never actually built a fire until just recently. Like, a real fire, with wood.

Do you remember your first favorite movie?
I grew up in a movie household. When I was a little kid, my dad took me to see everything.

I was 3 years old when Edward Lee Elmore was first convicted of killing Greenwood’s Dorothy Edwards.

At my daughter’s preschool, they often talk to the students about being “good listeners.”
Well, residents of Greenwood, the teachers at my daughter’s preschool would be very proud of how you acted last week during Winter Storm Pax. For the most part, you were very good listeners.

It’s a weird thing when home changes, just a little bit at a time.
I’ve lived in Greenwood for almost nine years now, and I like it quite a bit.

If you are reading this, it means you survived.
Somehow, against all odds, you made it through. I knew we could do it.
That’s right folks, we experienced Snowmageddon 2014, we braved it and we came out the other side, with lots of excess bread and milk.

For football fans, this is always a tough week.
For the first time since September, there’s no real football to watch. Oh sure, with 800 channels on the dial I’m sure you can find some kind of football to watch, whether it’s Canadian, Australian, Arena League or some dudes playing two-hand touch in a backyard.

In general, I have no problem with getting older.
At 35, I feel great. I still feel young, and that’s somewhat by design.

As many locals know, the Index-Journal office building is at 610 Phoenix St. in Greenwood.
Because of the location of the building, I have encountered a number of characters and eccentricities through the years.
