TROY -- Willie Mae Middleton Parker entered into eternal rest July 10, 2014 at Self Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.
She was born in Willington, SC June 12, 1920, a daughter of the late Frank and Easter Williams Middleton. She was the wife of the late James H. Parker.
She was a member of Little Mill Baptist Church for eighty-three years and served as choir leader, Sunday school teacher and several other church positions. She received her public education in the McCormick County Public Schools. She was a homemaker and a caregiver.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, seven brothers, Robert Middleton, George Middleton, Frank Middleton, Ollie Middleton, Walter Middleton, Tomel Middleton and Jesse Middleton; and three sisters, Lina Murray, Lula Jane Middleton and Viola Beckham.
She leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, Mrs. Wylene Patten and a son-in-law, Rev. Johnny Patten of the home; a grandson, Johnny M. Patten of Roswell, GA; three nephews reared in the home, O’dell Middleton of Philadelphia, PA, Robert Lee Parker of Washington, DC and David Lane of Seneca, SC; a niece reared in the home, Jeanette M. (Alfred) Garner of McCormick, SC; caregivers, Jeanette Holloway, Nobel Clark and other loving caregivers, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Services are Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Little Mill Baptist Church with the Pastor Rev. Darren Jones officiating; assisting are Revs. Sarah Robertson, Johnny Patten, and Aaron Woodward. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family is at her home, 253 Parker Road in Troy, SC.
