Mrs. Kathryn Woods Williams, 87, of 1315 Lincoln Avenue, widow of Marion Williams, Sr., passed away on April 18, 2014 at Self Regional Medical Center. 
She was born in Greenwood County February 13, 1927 a daughter of J. B. Woods and Lillie Mosley Woods. 
She was a graduate of Brewer High School Class of 1944. She attended South Carolina State University graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Business Education in 1948.
She was first employed as a Teacher with the Flint Hill Baptist Church School. She continued in the educational field and accepted the position as Secretary of Brewer High School. She was later hired as a teacher with the Abbeville School district and finally was employed at East End Elementary School teaching 6th grade until her retirement in 1984.
She was a member of Springfield Baptist Church where she served in many capacities to include the first musician and Choir Director for over 35 years. She was also worked with the youth and was a member of the Senior Choir.
Her community affiliations include Gardenia Garden Club, Charmelette Club and the Senior Travel Club.
She was a member of the South Carolina State College and Brewer High School Alumni and member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
She leaves to cherish her memory two devoted sons, Marion Williams, Jr., and Michael Williams (Dreama); one sister, Pauline Scott (Hestor); five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Springfield Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Andy Young officiating. Burial will be in Oakbrook Memorial Park. Mrs. Williams’ body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.
Pallbearers will be nephews. Flower bearers will nieces.
