McCORMCK -- Mr. Clay Wideman, husband of Mrs. Brenda P. Wideman, departed this life July 9, 2014 at the University Hospital, Augusta, GA. He was born in McCormick, SC, January 23, 1958, a son of Mrs. Ora Murray Wideman and the late Thomas Wideman. He was a member of the Tranquil AME Church, a graduate of McCormick High School and was employed at Milliken Mills in Johnston, SC.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of the home and his mother of McCormick; three sons, Tito Wideman of McCormick, SC, Demarco (Felicia) Wideman of Abbeville, SC, and Corey Drennon of Greenwood, SC; two daughters, India Wideman of Greenwood, SC, and Cherryl (Willie) Barber of Augusta, GA; eleven grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Wideman Foster and Flora Wideman (Donald) Belton of McCormick; one brother, Thomas Lee (Susan) Wideman of McCormick, SC.
He was preceded in death by a brother Charlie Wideman; and a sister, Gloria Wideman Scott and brother-in-law John Scott.
Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at Tranquil AME Church, with the pastor, Rev. J. Allen Aiken, officiating. Assisting are Revs. Winston Oliphant, Carrie Samuels and Willie M. Williams. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.
