Two men were arrested after Greenwood County narcotics agents swept through North Street for a pair of drug busts.
Willson Fisher, 25, of 612 Willard Road, Greenwood, was charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana in connection with his arrest late Tuesday night. Matthew Emily, 22, of 411 North St., Greenwood, faces the same charge following a drug raid early Wednesday morning.
Agents from the county drug enforcement unit descended upon North Street, just east of S.C. Highway 254, just before midnight Tuesday to perform surveillance following reports of recent drug activity at a home on the block. According to city police reports:
Agents saw one of the suspects enter the home and come back out 30 minutes later carrying a bag. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the suspect's vehicle and used a drug-sniffing canine to locate 368 grams of a substance thought to be marijuana inside a bag in the trunk of the car.
Less than two hours later, DEU agents were back on North Street, this time armed with a search warrant, and raided a home on the block. Officers swept through the home and found 198 grams of suspected pot in the bedroom of the suspect arrested during that bust. Agents also found a digital scale and confiscated a safe found in the residence.
