Welcomes and awards were at the top of the agenda for District 50's board of trustees who met Monday at the Genesis Education Center.
In his superintendent's report, Darrell Johnson welcomed new staff member Kitty Tripp on board. Tripp is the district's first instructional technology director.
Assistant Superintendent for Business David Loadholt distributed district awards to staff members. Accolades went to Lakeview Elementary as the Clean School of the Month and Greenwood High School cafeteria workers for Cafeteria of the Month. Pam Garren, of Brewer Middle School, received the award for Bookkeeper of the Month.
Additionally, the district received a clean, or unmodified, opinion on its financial audit by George Kennedy and Lee Wagner of the financial firm Elliott Davis.
Wagner noted the audit went smoothly.
The financial department at D50 was very responsive to all of our requests," he said.
The full report from the firm will be available on the district's website for public viewing.
Loadholt announced two new technological projects in the district.
