Second suspect charged in Abbeville burglary

Abbeville County deputies arrested a second teenage Anderson suspect on Wednesday thought to be involved in a home burglary last weekend in Due West.
Jonathan Smith, 17, of 308 Darby Lane, Anderson, was charged with second-degree burglary, petit larceny and malicious injury to real property in connection with the incident.
The charges stem from a burglary that reportedly took place March 1 at a residence along Mount Lebanon Road in Due West. Roymad McDaniel, 17, of Anderson, was arrested in connection with the incident Monday and faces three charges as well. According to an Abbeville County incident report:
The victim told officers thieves ransacked their home, busted a side door to the residence and stole several items, including a 32-inch television, a camera and $655 worth of checks, cash and coins.
