In Saluda County, John Perry will be the new sheriff. Perry won with 55 percent of the vote, besting Pat Griffith in the race to replace Jason Booth.

In McCormick County, Sheriff George Reid held off write-in challenger Tim Kelly. Reid collected 91.38 percent of the vote.

Forgive us for overlooking this little gem from Greenwood County results: Sunday alcohol sales will be permitted for bars and restaurants. The referendum passed with 65 percent of the vote.

Still waiting on results from Saluda, Abbeville and McCormick Counties, but in Greenwood County, Floyd Nicholson registered 56 percent of the vote against Jennings McAbee in the state Senate District 10 race.

Still waiting on Abbeville, Newberry and Laurens counties to report, but after Greenwood County reported, David Stumbo leads Ben Shealy 58 percent to 42 percent in the race for 8th Judicial Circuit Solicitor.

Your new coroner is Sonny Cox. With all precincts reporting, Sonny Cox registered 78.55 percent of the vote. The write-in category received 21.45 percent of the vote. Marcia Kelley-Clark was running as a write-in.

After a wild primary and a much more subdued General Election race, Greenwood County has a new Clerk of Court. With about 60 percent of the vote, Angie Woodhurst defeated Felicia Moton.

Ware Shoals has a new mayor: John Hansen defeated Bonnie Maxwell 54 percent to 44 percent. Hansen had 392 votes, while Maxwell recorded 321.

Ware Shoals has selected three Town Council members. Jack Sullivan (22 percent), Marshall Webster (18 percent) and B.J. Smith (17 percent) are the winners in the eight-man race.

Greenwood County results are final: Shannon Riley is the new S.C. House District 13 representative with 78.8 percent of the vote. Riley defeated Bob Merritt, who had 20.8 percent.

Greenwood County results are final: Chuck Moates easily defeated Mike Rakes to retain his seat on Greenwood County Council. Moates had 67.8 percent of the vote, while Mike Rakes had 32 percent in the race for the District 4 seat.
