A Hunter's Creek man was arrested Tuesday following a report he stole his father's car last week.
Robert Woolston, 24, of 121 Tryon Court, Greenwood, was charged with grand larceny in connection with the incident, which occurred April 5.
The victim told officers his son came into his bedroom about 4 a.m. the day of the incident, took the keys to a Toyota Corolla and left the house in the car. According to a Greenwood County incident report:
The victim told officers to list the suspect as an endangered adult, saying the man had just gotten out of the hospital and suffered from a severe bipolar condition. The victim said the suspect was prescribed medication to treat the condition, but left that medicine at home. The father told deputies the man suffered from anger management issues and an inability to make sound decisions when he didn't take his medication.
The victim told officers he learned of the theft later the morning of the incident when his son called, saying he was at the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport and wanted money sent to him so he could catch a flight to Las Vegas. The victim worried the suspect would try to drive across the country to reach Las Vegas.
