Authorities in Abbeville County have arrested a man in the death of a 25-year-old Abbeville County man.
Investigators arrested Tony Jordan, 52, of 104 Oakland Ave., Abbeville, and charged him with murder and possession of a weapon in the commission of a violent crime, according to a press release from the Abbeville County Sheriff's Office issued Thursday night. He is charged in the killing of his son, Jeremy Ray Jordan, of Abbeville, who was found dead on the Little River Bridge along Old Calhoun Falls Road late Monday night in Abbeville.
The State Law Enforcement Division and ACSO deputies collaborated on the investigation. Abbeville County Coroner Ronnie Ashley indicated earlier this week that Jeremy Jordan died from a single gunshot wound to the head. A motorist passing by the bridge saw the man and reported it to authorities. Officials said Tuesday they think Jordan was shot at the scene of the bridge, and indicated he died about 9:30 Monday night.
Abbeville County Sheriff Ray Watson will have a press conference at 2 p.m. today at the Abbeville County Law Enforcement Center to release more details about the investigation, according to Thursday's statement.
