Greenwood County Airport is going to be busy Saturday, which is part of the main weekend for the 47th annual South Carolina Festival of Flowers.
The airport is already home to the Aviation Expo and Air Show and radio-controlled planes for the Festival of Flowers this year, Kidfest moves from The Museum in Uptown Greenwood to the airport.
Festival of Flowers executive director Ellesor Holder said Greenwood County Airport will have a lot going on Saturday for families, military, pilots and aviation enthusiasts.

“Every year they amp it up,” Holder said of the event headed by Greenwood County Airport manager Rossi Corwon. “They’re having all kinds of stuff out there.”
We tied in Kidfest this year because so many families were torn as to which one to go to. We thought, let’s move Kidfest to the Aviation Expo.”
The Aviation Expo and Air Show is 9 a.m.-4 p.m. while Kidfest is 9:30-11:30 a.m. At 10:30 a.m., there’s a special performance by Hot Wire Harry.
There is a $5 parking fee at the airport.
